WIP It Wednesday: The Dance (Nobody's Hero)

For last weekend's Six Sentence Sunday, I had six sentences from a scene I'd just written (totally unedited and unresearched). Now I've reworked it a bit and thought I'd show you what it looks like now, plus give you more than six sentences to enjoy!

In the opening of this club scene, harem-girl Karla has been presented to the tribe's "sheikh," Master Adam. (A sheikh is the leader of a family or tribe, which Adam most certainly is in the Masters at Arms club family.) Karla is kneeling at his feet. This also is one of his favorite fantasies, too.)

"Remove the veil." He'd quickly grown tired of having her face hidden from him. Even if the material was flimsy and see-through, he needed to see her eyes, her mouth, her lips.

"Permission to move, your excellency."

Move? Of course she'd need to in order to remove the veil. Why was she asking for unnecessary permission?

He sighed. "Granted."

She raised her hands, striking a dramatic pose, and the veil fell in front of her, its material further obstructing his view. Without warning, passionate Middle Eastern music blared from the nearby speakers, distracting him momentarily. He looked over at the sound system to find his partner, the quasi-sultan, grinning in his direction and doing a gesture of obeissance as he bowed toward him. Then Marc returned to where he'd left Angelina kneeling beside a small table stage-side. He sat with his slave girl between his knees and gave her an order. She looked up at him warily, then around at the others nearby, balking until Marc said something that had her face turning red at the same time as her hands reached out to undo his leathers. Adam grinned.

Karla's long, flowing veil flitted across Adam's face, drawing his attention back to her. She dipped and undulated to the music, alternately hiding her face and revealing it with the red veil. Her expression was serious, he supposed because she was concentrating on the moves—and him. She didn't take her eyes off him. The intensity of her smoldering, come-hither gaze made him feel as if she'd sucked his breath from his lungs in her aura.

What was going on in her head tonight?

She began rippling her hips, alternating between fast movements and slow ones in such a sensuous way, causing his heart rate to speed up and slow down in direct response. Her breasts spilled over the tops of the red bra cups studded with black sequins and beads, making him wish his lips were brushing over the skin there he knew to be as soft as satin. Her torso and hips rippled like waves on the ocean, riveting his attention on the beads and bangles hanging from her bra and the waistband of her skirt. He realized this was one very expensive outfit, no Halloween costume.

Where had she learned to belly dance like that—and why hadn't he known about this talent sooner? Karla lifted the veil over her head and twirled on bare feet, her hands and arms making graceful motions that caused the veil to flutter and float around her body. When she turned away from him, he watched her hips shake to the music, her hips enticing him to reach out to her and sending the bangles into frenzied motion. She took the ends of the veil and leaned back until her gorgeous cleavage came into view, then whipped the veil over both their heads and around his neck and shoulders, pulling him closer to her breasts. Just before his lips would have pressed against her jiggling mounds, she released one end of the veil and stood upright, evading his head with a sideways lunge. She stood upright and pulled the veil away from him, wrapping it around herself again. His dick raised to a full salute and he adjusted himself against the leather seat to keep from strangling his head. He nearly came in his leathers.

"Very nice, kitten," he managed to choke out. "Where did you learn to dance like that?" He waited, not sure he really wanted to know.

She giggled, damn her. He throbbed even more.

Nobody's Hero is expected to be released "around Christmas," but no later than Dec. 30. Six Sunday: Karla fulfills one of Master Adam's favorite fantasies

This week's Six Sentences comes from my December release, Nobody's Hero (due out sometime around Christmassee the hot new cover below). I just started writing this scene yesterday so it's uneditedbut a lot of fun anyway, so I couldn't wait to share it.

Yeah, Karla's still teasing Master Adam, but this scene comes much later in the story than the one you read last week. She's ramping up her game.

When Karla removed another of the veils, one that had covered her beaded-and-sequined bra, his mouth went dry. She took the ends of the veil, leaned back to where all he could see was her cleavage, and whipped the veil over his head and around his neck and shoulders, pulling him slightly toward her breasts before releasing one end, standing upright, and letting it fall into his lap. His dick raised to a full salute under the veil and he adjusted himself against the leather seat to keep from strangling his erection.

"Very nice, kitten," he managed to choke out. "Where did you learn to dance like that?" He waited, not sure he really wanted to know.

Thanks for stopping by to read my Six this week. Each week, the new listing of Six Sentence Sunday (SSS) blogs go live at 9 a.m. EDT Sunday. This is a great way to find new authors to follow or read or to get exposure for your own writing! For a list of this week's participants in the SSS blog tour, go to http://www.sixsunday.com/. Karla and Adam, Thanksgiving 2002 (Masters at Arms)

Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers! Here's a treat for everyone--a couple of the Thanksgiving Day scenes from Masters at Arms (from Section One--the prequel to Nobody's Hero, which will be coming out "around" Christmas). Warning: Some adult language. But this is "sweet" by my standards. :)

If you don't have your copy yet, use Coupon Code ZE68V at Smashwords (http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/80282) for a free download of the book. (Coupon good through Black Friday, Nov. 25.)

Scene Setup: Marine master sergeant Adam's rescued 16-year-old runaway Karla from a pimp at the bus station and brought her home in the wee hours of Thanksgiving 2002. Her parents, missing their recently deployed son, invited him to join them until he can catch the next bus. Adam is grieving his wife, who died two weeks earlier, and has escaped the chaos at Karla's house to take a walk. He said goodbye to Joni (his wife) at the shore of Lake Michigan then turned to find Karla shivering from the cold, as if standing guard for him. (You'll find out why she followed him in Nobody's Hero.)

Of course, Adam is extremely honorable and hasn't led Karla on in any way--but she has a hero-worship crush on him and is about to lay something on him he really does not want to hear.We begin when Adam turns to find her at the lake. (Oh, boy! I didn't think I'd get to use this picture of "Karla" again, now that she's all grown up in the story and no longer has "godawful" makeup and neon-pink hair, as Adam described it back then.)

...(H)e became aware of the icy pellets pounding his face as a lake-effect squall whipped up. He turned around to make his way back to Karla’s house.

Standing a few feet away from him, as if on guard duty, shivering inside her coat, stood Karla.

“What the f…heck are you doing out here?”

Her teeth chattered as she tried to answer. He took off his jacket and put it on her to give her another layer of warmth, then wrapped his arm around her, hoping to infuse some heat into her thin body. “Let’s get you back home.”

“N-n-no, Adam. I have to tell you something.”

Adam just pulled her along toward the house. “We’ll talk when we get you out of this squall.” She tried to dig in her heels, but he’d have none of it. Damned fool kid needed a caretaker.

He’d been dreading going back into the chaos at her house, but now he just wanted to get her inside as quickly as possible. She’d catch pneumonia out here. They got as far as her front door when Karla wedged her toe against the door and turned to look up at him.

“Wait! Adam, there’s something you need to know, and I can’t say this inside the house.”

Adam tried to block as much of the wind from hitting her shivering frame as he could, but her black-and-pink hair lashed across her face. He reached out and tucked the wild strands behind her left ear because they distracted him from the conversation that seemed so important to her. What in the hell could she possibly have to say that couldn’t be said inside?

Karla splayed her gloved hand on his chest, over his wounded heart, and looked up at him with those big sparkling blue eyes surrounded by that god-awful makeup and pink hair. She searched his eyes for a long moment, he didn’t know for what.

Then he felt a niggling at the scar on the back of his neck—always a sign he wasn’t going to want to deal with whatever was incoming. Fuck. He hoped she wasn’t about to say what he thought she was getting ready to lay on him.

“Adam, I n-n-n-know you have a wife and y-y-y-you think I’m just a kid, but I want to t-t-tell you that…I l-l-love you.”

Double fucking damn. He’d need a minesweeper to navigate these waters. Joni, where are you when I need you? She’d know how to deal with a sixteen-year-old’s crush. She’d been surrounded by teenage girls at the Catholic school where she’d taught until last spring. Help me out here, baby.

“Hon, I love you, too.” Crap. That didn’t come out sounding right, but surely she’d know what he meant.

When her eyes lit up and she pursed her lips as if expecting him to kiss her, he turned his rudder hard to starboard. She’d definitely taken his words the wrong way.

“Like a father, Karla. Hell, I’m old enough to be your father.”

When tears welled up in her eyes and spilled down her cheeks, his gut turned to mush. He always came undone when a woman cried. But, hell, Karla was just a kid. Why did her tears rip him apart even more? How in the hell had he let this happen?

Now, wait a minute there. He’d never given her any indication he wanted to be anything other than a guardian to keep her out of trouble. Fuck, he didn’t know anything about teenage girls.

“Look, hon…” Quit calling her hon, you frigging asshole. “Look, Karla, I’m an old man. Your life is just starting. I’m sure there are lots of boys who’d—”

“But they’re so immature. All they talk about is sports. I don’t have anything in common with them.”

What the hell did she have in common with an old worn-out Marine? God, he wished they made tactical maps for situations like these. He was fucking clueless how to fend off this attack.

“Nothing wrong with sports.” Oh, that’s profound, jarhead. Damn. He liked this kid a lot. Didn’t want to hurt her for anything. But he wasn’t a perv.

Just tell it like it is, man. You’ve never had any problem doing that before. What’s different this time?

She’s a kid! And a girl! I don’t want to hurt her.

“Look, Karla. I like you a lot, but I don’t feel that way about you.” When the light left her eyes, he felt like a fucking heel. While he knew the words needed to be said, if it were physically possible, he’d have given himself a good roundhouse kick in the ass for whatever the hell he’d done to make her think he’d welcome this heartfelt declaration. How could he make it not seem like a rejection because there was something wrong with her? She’d make a fine girlfriend and wife for some guy someday. Just not him.

“I still love my wife.” Yeah, that’s good. Let Joni pull your prick out of the fire. He didn’t have to tell her his wife was dead. Besides, he did still love Joni. “You have some growing up to do. I’m sure you’ll meet someone one day who can love and respect you the way you should be loved.”

Karla tore herself away, opened the door, and ran inside.

He laid his forehead against the cold doorframe. What a fucking mess he’d made of that. Maybe it was a good thing he and Joni hadn’t had kids. He’d make a lousy father.

That fucking bus couldn’t get here soon enough.

* * *

Karla tried to eat all the food on her plate, but the lump in her throat, and Adam sitting across the table from her, made that impossible.

“Good news, Adam,” Daddy said, beaming. “I’ve managed to get you a ticket on a red-eye flight out tomorrow night. Direct to San Diego. You’ll be back on base in hours rather than days.”

Karla saw the stricken look on Adam’s face. He must be horrified to think of being stuck with her another whole day. Her eyes brimmed with tears and she hung her head down, hoping they’d fall right into her burgundy cloth napkin without leaving an embarrassing trail.

“That’s really not necessary, sir. I don’t mind—”

“It’s done. The least we can do after all you’ve done for us.”

Luckily, Daddy didn’t add to her embarrassment by spelling out to everyone at the table why they felt they owed this Marine something. But she and her parents knew. All her fault. A few hours ago, she’d have been thrilled to know Adam would be with her another day. Now she didn’t even know what to say or do with him.

Karla had teetered on the verge of crying since she’d been rejected by Adam on the front porch. Of course, she didn’t want to break up his happy marriage or anything. But he could have at least given her a little kiss to remember him by. She’d never find anyone like him to love ever again.

Adam continued to avoid looking at her. He didn’t eat much either, not even the casserole she’d made for him. Another rejection. More tears.

Grandma began sharing stories about her latest cruise and Karla zoned out until she heard Adam’s name.

“Adam, have you ever been to Mexico?” Grandma asked.

“Yes, ma’am. My wife and I went to Cabo San Lucas on a second honeymoon about ten years ago.” He cleared his throat. “Beautiful place.”

Well, even if he wasn’t happily married, he wouldn’t wait for you to grow up, Kitty. No, he was so handsome, he could have any woman he wanted. Besides, he didn’t even know she existed. Karla felt the lump growing in her throat and put her useless fork down. She hoped this nightmare dinner would end soon so she could escape to her room and have a good cry.

Why had she so embarrassed herself on the porch? She needed to make conversation before her Mom hauled her into the kitchen for having such bad manners. Karla looked up at Adam. “I’ll bet you miss her a lot.”

His eyes got sad again and he looked down at his plate. “More than you’ll ever know.”

Yeah, he loved her. She was a very lucky lady. As if to keep from having to say more, he took a small bite of her casserole. She smiled.

Mom said, “Karla, your broccoli casserole gets better every year.”

Adam looked up at her as he chewed, smiling across the table. “Best I’ve ever had.”

Karla’s tummy squeezed tight and she smiled back.

After the dinner plates had been cleared, mom pulled out the Quiddler cards and dictionaries and everyone at the table played. Adam was pretty good at it, but Karla beat him in the last round with the word “domination.” That was the best word she’d ever gotten in the stupid game!

...And this was only the beginning. Read more about them later in Masters at Arms (almost nine years after this scene), in several scenes in Nobody's Angel (order info below), and in Nobody's Hero (available in late December). Of course, Adam and Karla are the glue that holds the rag-tag family of characters together in the Rescue Me series, so they'll figure prominently in every novel in the series.

Please cast a vote for the Masters at Arms cover in the Cover of the Month contest at http://yougottareadcovers.blogspot.com (#14 on the list). My artist (Linda Lynn--a new cover artist) and I would greatly appreciate it!
My writing style is more of a SERIAL than a series--complete with cliffhangers and characters who continue to work on their relationship issues in subsequent novels. (Yes, the heroes and heroines from earlier romances will have recurring roles as they progress toward their ultimate Happily Ever Afters). So skipping any of the novel-length installments will make the subsequent romance subplots in the "serial" less enjoyable. But the good thing is that there are ONLY two novels out so far, so it will be easy to catch up! See below for ordering details!

You won't enjoy Nobody's Hero as much if you haven't read Masters at Arms and Nobody's Angel first, because Adam and Karla's relationship actually began nine years early in sections one and five of Mastersand continued to grow in Angel

WIP It Wednesday: Damian Rescues Savannah (Masters at Arms)

First, just wanted to ask for your vote in the Cover of the Month contest. VOTE NOW THROUGH SATURDAY, NOV. 26 at http://yougottareadcovers.blogspot.com/ (#14 on list). If you love Master Adam's chest and this cover as much as *I* do, I'd appreciate your vote. I don't know the exact time voting ends, so vote early! Thanks so much for your consideration!

Now, in honor of that awesome cover, rather than another snippet from my upcoming release, I decided to go back to the beginning of Damian and Savannah's story, the Section Two prequel in Masters at Arms.

This is the scene after Damian has rescued Savannah (Savi) from the sadists at her father's hotel. (He's not aware that she's a sex slave for her father, but thinks she might be a call girl.) She's just awoken from an exhausted sleep to find a stranger (who looks like her fantasy idol, Orlando Bloom) in the bed and is now beginning to worry about what her father and his partner (Lyle) will do to punish her for losing two of their business clients (the sadists in the snippet). The "final plan" she refers to is her suicide, which she plans to carry out when she gets home, no longer able to continue to "live" the way she's been forced to live since childhood, but most especially since becoming a sex slave a year earlier.

What now? Lyle and her father would be furious. She’d never lost them a client before. Last night, she’d lost two. Her punishment would be severe. She opened her eyes and glanced toward the door. Where had Lyle gone? When would he be back? She supposed her father would send a car for her. They knew they didn’t have to worry about her running away. The threat of living a hellish life as a street whore would keep her tethered in her velvet chains.

Savannah began to shake.

“Shhh. It’s okay.” The man on the bed—Damián—reached out a hand to her, but she pulled her body away. He let his hand come to rest on the mattress between them, as if he were training a dog to get used to him by small degrees. His brown skin contrasted sharply with the white sheets. Exotic. So different from the men who could afford her.

No, he wasn’t her client. That she knew. So who was he? She shivered and returned his gaze, seeing regret, pity. She didn’t want or need anyone’s pity.

“I don’t know you.”

“I work here at the hotel.”

Oh, Lord! The bus boy! She remembered him from the restaurant. How had she come to be in bed with him? Had anything happened? Clearly, she’d zoned out. Had he forced himself on her while her mind was out of her body?

No. The concern in the man’s warm-chocolate eyes told her he wasn’t a threat. She didn’t think so, anyway. His pupils were so large, his eyes almost looked black. Her instincts regarding men were more than a little warped. Still, something began to melt inside her. The image of him barging into the room last night carrying a…a fire extinguisher? She tried to keep from smiling, but couldn’t help herself. So incongruous with the type of rescue she’d needed.

Damián raised an eyebrow, then smiled back. His white teeth against a bronzed face sent a flock of swallows to flight inside her stomach. She giggled.

“What’s so funny?”

“You, barging in here last night carrying that ridiculous fire extinguisher.”

Someone yelled ‘fire.’”

“Well, I read once that no one comes when you yell rape.”

His face grew serious. “They didn’t—?”

She shook her head. “No. Against the rules.” Tears stung the backs of her eyelids. “No one’s ever come to my rescue before.” She turned away. Don’t let him get inside your head, Savi. This stranger was even more dangerous than the sadists. He made her feel vulnerable. She needed to keep her wits about her if she was going to keep the walls of her fortress intact.

Until she could get home and put her final plan into motion, she’d do well to remember that men weren’t safe or honorable.

But Damián had held her for hours without taking advantage of her. Amazing man.

She looked back at him. “Thank you.”

De nada.”

Then she realized what his actions had cost him. “Oh, God. Your job.”

A bus boy probably needed every paycheck just to survive. She assessed him. He wore a polo uniform shirt—which he filled out better than any polo she’d ever seen—and inexpensive black jeans.

He shrugged, as if it didn’t matter. But she doubted he was truly that nonchalant. He’d be fired, if he hadn’t been already, all because of her. Unfair. Yet another victim of her father’s and Lyle’s ruthlessness. His face blurred as tears welled in her eyes. “I’m so sorry to have caused you so much trouble.”

He leaned closer. She didn’t back away this time, but her heart began beating faster.

“I’d do it again,” he whispered. “No regrets, Savannah. No one should hurt you like that.”

She closed her eyelids and swallowed. Damián’s fingertip brushed away a tear that rolled from the corner of her eye. His hand felt warm against her chilled skin. A jolt of electricity zapped her clit—and not the kind of zap the sadists had delivered, either. Her eyes opened wider. No man had ever caused a sexual response in her.

When he pulled his hand back, she fought the urge to lean toward him. How could she feel so safe with this stranger?

Dangerous. She needed to get away before he got under her skin. She instinctively knew that opening herself up to his kindness would just result in even more intense pain when she left him to return to Master. Her life, her body, were not hers.

“I have to get home.”

Damian and Savannah (now Savi) will reunite briefly in Nobody's Hero (due out in December). Their romance will come out in February, Nobody's Perfect, as my two most broken souls find love and happiness with each otherat last.

Six Sunday: Karla's Unintentional Slow Tease (Nobody's Hero)

This week's Six Sentence Sunday is a continuation of my WIP It Wednesday excerpt, but Karla STILL hasn't gotten those skivvies off Master Adam. (You may recall, he ordered her to do it with her teeth—which has backfired on him, as most things do with Karla.) This scene is from my December release, Nobody's Hero (Book #3 in the Rescue Me series). Enjoy!

His cock pulsated in her hand. Slow, deep breaths. He tried to practice the techniques he'd learned in martial arts to slow down his heart rate, hoping it would lessen the pulsing in his dick. When she surprised him by letting the tip of her pink tongue tentatively lick him where her thumb had been moments before, he groaned, balling his hands into fists at his sides to keep from thrusting his hips up and ramming him cock down her throat.

As if she were giving him a news bulletin, she paused to look up at him and announce, "You taste salty, Sir."

"Karla," he ground the words out, "get my fucking skivvies off—now."

Thanks for stopping by to read my Six this week. Each week, the new listing of Six Sentence Sunday (SSS) blogs go live at 9 a.m. EDT Sunday. WIP It Wednesday: Karla's turn to torture Master Adam (Nobody's Hero)

I posted a bit of this scene from the December release, Nobody's Hero, on my Facebook wall yesterday. After two readers fainted and another said she was in a puddle under her desk at work, I thought perhaps this would be a good one to share in expanded (and revised) form for WIP It Wednesday this week. As you know from all of the "I haven't begun to torture you" snippets where Master Adam had the upper hand (and mouth), now we get to see what happens when Karla unintentionally tortures her Master.

"Oh, Sir. Keep doing that."

"Are you topping me, kitten?"

She grew tense and he regretted teasing her. Hell, he wanted to know what she liked, what she wanted. He let his hands glide down her arms, then pulled her against his chest. Her eyelashes fanned just above her cheekbones and her head lay against his shoulder. He reached around to cup both of her high, firm breasts in his hands. What would she think of having her tits clamped? He grasped each with one thumb and forefinger and squeezed, then twisted.

"Oh, God!"

Her breathy gasp and the arching of her chest toward his hands told him all he needed to know. Perhaps a combination of tit bondage and tit torture would be in store later, when they ventured downstairs to a theme room. If he'd known where tonight was going to lead, he'd have brought his toy bag up here. But he could wait.

"Tell me what you need, kitten." He nuzzled her neck as his right hand ventured south until he cupped her Venus mound and his middle finger stroked her wet slit. Her pelvis tilted to allow him access, but he waited for her to say the words.

She moaned in frustration.

"Tell me, kitten."

"I need you, Sir."

"You need me to what?" He could feel the heat rise from her face.

"I need you to…make love to me, Sir."

What Adam had in mind had nothing to do with love and her words made him feel a little guilty. Sure, he had feelings for her, but he'd never been able to love anyone. He needed to keep things on the level with her and keep her from entertaining any romantic notions.

"I want to fuck you hard and fast. Are you ready for that?"

She tensed. "I…um, I think so, Sir."

He chuckled. "Well, I think maybe we need to start a little slower, kitten. Stand up." She barely hesitated before standing. "Turn around." She turned to face him. He lay back on the bed. "Take them off." His gaze went to his black skivvies.

Karla hesitated a bit longer this time, her teeth nibbling her red lips, as she looked down at him and the outline of his rock-hard penis straining against his skivvies. Her tantalizing teeth and hesitation gave him another idea.

"Take them off with your teeth." God, he knew he'd regret this for the rest of his life, but having her sexy mouth that close to his dick was all he could think about right now.

She glanced down at him and smiled a shaky smile, then bent over him, bracing herself by placing her hands just above his hipbones, and took his waistband between her teeth. Shit. Her fingers touching his bare skin, holding one or both of them steady, caused his dick to bob against her chin. She stopped and pulled back, surveying the situation, then took the waistband between her teeth again and pulled it up and over his erection until the head peeked out.

She pulled back yet again and her face took on a playful expression. "My, what have we here, Sir?" she teased. Her hand reached down to cup his still-covered balls, then moved up the length of his mostly covered dick until she brushed her thumb over the bare head.

"Karla, you're playing with fire."

Ignoring him, her thumb pad rubbed over the notch in the head of his cock, which eagerly bobbed its welcome. "Oh, Sir, it feels like velvet."

Fuck. She'd apparently not even touched one before. He was going straight to hell for letting her continue down this path to debauchery, but he couldn't have stopped her now if he'd wanted to—which he most certainly didn't want to do.

"Remove them completely." He gave the command through clenched teeth.

"Yes, Sir." Her upper teeth scraped against his dick as they wrapped around the waistband again. He felt all the air leaving his lungs, but didn't have the wherewithal to replace it. So close. What would her hot mouth feel like sheathing his cock?

Don't go there, old man.

The tip of his dick brushed against her nose as she pulled his skivvies a little further down, nearly causing him to lose all control. Rather than take them all the way off, she got sidetracked yet again, which made him throb for her even more. With one tentative hand, she cupped his still-covered balls.

"Augghh." His hips lifted toward her face. Sweat broke out on Adam's forehead and he closed his eyes. Sweet Jesus, her hand felt so good on him, the combination of innocent naïveté and hesitant touch an incredible turn-on.

Rather than tell her what to do, he decided to wait and see what she'd do of her own volition in her first carnal exploration. Her sweet, warm breath on the head of his dick had him straining toward her. For the longest time, she merely stared at his dick, then she wrapped her tiny hand around his girth, over his skivvies, and applied the sweetest pressure. Torture. The woman was fucking torturing him, whether she intended to or not. When had he lost control of this scene?

She squeezed him and seemed surprised by the strength and muscle in his dick. But she didn't squeeze his balls or go straight to pumping his cock, as an experienced woman might. Instead, her thumb began stroking the exposed ridge on the head of his cock, back and forth, and he had to reach out and grasp her hand to stop her. Now he needed to slow things down. When she looked up at him, stricken with insecurity, he smiled his encouragement.

"Kitten, what you're doing feels so good, I'm afraid I might explode before I'm ready. Let's take this a little slower, okay?"

She smiled. "Yes, Sir." He loved the sense of newfound power she exuded. This woman would make some man very happy someday with her erotic mix of kitten and tiger.

My writing style is more of a SERIAL than a series--complete with cliffhangers and characters who continue to work on their relationship issues in subsequent novels. (Yes, the heroes and heroines of earlier romances will have recurring roles as they progress toward their Happily Ever Afters). So skipping any of the novel-length installments will make the subsequent romance subplots in the "serial" less enjoyable. Of course, Master Adam and Karla's first met nine years ago in Masters at Arms.

But the good thing is that there are ONLY two novels out so far, so it will be easy to catch up! See below for ordering details!
You won't enjoy Nobody's Hero as much if you haven't read Masters at Arms and Nobody's Angel first, because Adam and Karla's relationship actually began nine years early in sections one and five of Masters--and continued to grow in Angel
The 115,000-word novel, second in the Rescue Me series,

Nobody's Angel is available for $2.99 NOW at

MASTERS AT ARMS (only 99 cents!), the

Six Sunday: Make no mistake...you'll be screaming (Nobody's Hero)

Since I have the honor of being #69 (last time I checked) in this week's Six Sunday roster (erotic romance writers and readers know why that's an honor), I had to go with a scene showing at least some oral sex. (It's kind of hard to do 69 the way poor Karla has been cuffed and chained to Master Adam's bed.) Of course, it's a six-sentence limit, so I'm just going to tease you with the oral to come (so to speak).

This is another of Karla's firsts with Master Adam (or anyone else, for that matter). I've posted a number of snippets from this scene in the upcoming December release of Nobody's Hero on my Facebook wall in recent weeks. It seems to be a fan favorite. Enjoy this additional snippet!

"I'm not sure I like pain, Sir."

He grinned. "Who said anything about pain?"

"You said I'd be screaming, Sir."

"Oh, make no mistake that you'll be screaming. Just not from pain."

Thanks for stopping by to read my Six this week. Each week, the new listing of Six Sentence Sunday (SSS) blogs go live at 9 a.m. EDT Sunday. This is a great way to find new authors to follow or read! WIP It Wednesday: Who said anything about restraining your...?

UPDATE 2/5/12: This scene was actually split into two in the final version of NOBODY'S HERO. Loved how it was written here, but then Master Adam backed off and I had to lasso her nips in another scene. But I'm leaving it here as drafted anyway. :)

In this scene, Master Adam is trying to distract Karla from what she wants to discuss.

She reached up to cup his cheek and brushed her finger across his lips. The slight tremble told her he might be fighting to maintain control. Good. He needed to lose it for once.

Adam's grip tightened on her face and he pulled her closer. "I really don't want to talk about it. I'd rather take you down to a theme room, strip you, and restrain you with ropes before I..."

"I'm not sure my arms will take any contortions right now. My shoulders are still kind of sore."

"Who said anything about restraining your arms?" The look in his eyes caused heat to pool in her pelvis. Her pussy grew wet. His hands glided down to her shoulders, where he massaged the stiff muscles gently before his hands slipped down further and cupped her breasts. He pinched and twisted her nipples.

"Ackkk!" Her pelvis strained toward him as her nipples tightened and swelled beneath his fingers and thumbs.

Adam chuckled, maintaining his hold on her engorged peaks, pulling them with him as he took a step backward. "Come with me, kitten."

She stepped toward himwhat choice did she have? He grinned, then released her nipples, and took her hand, turning to leave. But she wasn't ready to let go of this conversation. Well, her mind wasn't ready; her body was long gone.

My writing style is more of a SERIAL than a series--complete with cliffhangers and continuing characters (even the heroes and heroines of earlier romances will continue to develop their relationships in subsequent books). So skipping any of the installments (novels) will make the subsequent novels less enjoyable.
